LEWES DAYCARE WORKER CHARGED WITH FELONY CHILD ABUSE
Lewes, DE - A daycare worker from Lewes, Delaware, has been arrested on charges of child abuse. The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Kaitlyn Kachnovitz.
On November 15, 2024, Delaware State Police were alerted to an incident of physical abuse against a child at Beach Babies Daycare Center, located at 31169 Learning Center Lane in Lewes, Delaware. The alleged physical abuse was reported to have been committed by a staff member of the daycare center.
Upon investigating, detectives uncovered that Kaitlyn Kachnovitz, the staff member in question, had forcefully grabbed a 2-year-old child under her care. The child sustained minor injuries due to the action. Kachnovitz was terminated from her employment on the day of the incident.
Kachnovitz voluntarily surrendered herself to Troop 4 on November 25, 2024. She is charged with Child Abuse in the 3rd Degree (Felony) and was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2. Subsequently, she has been released on her own recognizance.
