Lewes Man Arrested and Charged with First Degree Burglary and Offensive Touching
Sussex County, DE - The Delaware State Police have arrested 57-year-old Dale Andrews of Lewes, Delaware. The arrest happened following a reported burglary and offensive touching.
The incident occurred early Monday morning, March 10, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m.in the 19000 block of Plantation Road in Lewes, Delaware.
Delaware State Police Troopers received a report of a burglary in progress at a local residence.
Upon arrival, troopers observed residents yelling and pointing in the direction the suspect had fled.
The suspect was located nearby and identified as Dale Andrews. He was taken into custody without incident.
Preliminary investigation determined that Andrews entered the residence through an unlocked door. Once inside, a 57-year-old male victim was grabbed by the suspect.
Andrews fled the scene after being confronted by another resident. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Andrews was transported to Troop 7 for processing. He was formally charged with first-degree burglary of an occupied dwelling causing injury, a felony offense, as well as offensive touching.
Following an arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 11, Andrews was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution. He is currently being held on a $20,500 cash bond.
