LINCOLN DELAWARE WOMAN ARRESTED FOR DUI AND DRUG OFFENSES
Georgetown, DE - Maria Flores, a 49-year-old resident of Lincoln, Delaware, has been arrested by Delaware State Police following a car crash investigation in Georgetown, Delaware. Flores was arrested on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and drug possession on Wednesday morning.
On the morning of February 7, 2024, around 7:19 am, an emergency call led a state trooper to a collision scene at the intersection of Gravel Hill Road and Johnson Road in Georgetown, Delaware. The vehicles involved were a black Ford van and a white BMW, with no reported injuries.
The BMW driver was identified as Maria Flores. As the trooper engaged with Flores at the accident scene, noticeable signs of impairment were observed. The trooper then conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, to which Flores did not perform to the Troopers expectation. On completion of the tests, Flores was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
A search of Flores's belongings revealed a large amount of illegal narcotics, to include around .587 grams of heroin, eight Ecstasy tablets, and drug-related paraphernalia.
Flores was taken to Troop 4 for processing. Charges pressed against her included the aforementioned DUI and drug possession allegations (listed below).
After her arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 3, she was remanded to Sussex Correctional Institution on a secured bond amounting to $8,800.
