Georgetown, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested 44-year-old Jose Sanchez of Lincoln, Delaware. He is charged with a 5th offense DUI, terroristic threatening, and related offenses. The arrest follows an incident involving a co-worker in Georgetown.

Troopers responded to Donovan's Salvage Works on Donovan's Road at approximately 9:45 a.m. on February 9, 2026. The initial report cited terroristic threatening.

Authorities learned that Sanchez had engaged in an argument with a co-worker. During this dispute, Sanchez allegedly threatened to leave, return with a gun, and kill the individual.

Officers contacted Sanchez by phone and learned his vehicle was disabled on Seashore Highway. Troopers located Sanchez in his car at that location. He exhibited multiple signs of impairment during the interaction.

Sanchez refused to submit to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was subsequently taken into custody without incident. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed a sword concealed beneath clothing on the front seat.

A computer check revealed that Sanchez possessed a revoked driver's license. The check also confirmed four prior DUI-related convictions.

Sanchez was transported to Troop 4 for processing. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,700 secured bond.
