Local Businesses Partner with Sheriff’s Office for Annual Toy Drive
TALBOT COUNTY, MD - Doc's Downtown Grille, Doc's Sunset Grille, and Wood Ingenuity, LLC recently collaborated to collect hundreds of toys for local families in need. The initiative marks the continuation of an annual tradition started over twenty-five years ago by Bo and Dianne Oristian.
Chooch Oristian, owner and operator of Doc's, continues his parents' legacy by hosting a customer appreciation event each year. During the event, patrons receive food and drink in exchange for donating a new toy for area youth.
Mark Boyle and Cory Hall of Wood Ingenuity, LLC assisted in the logistical effort, helping collect and transport the donations to the Talbot County Sheriff's Office.
Once collected, the toys were distributed to families in Talbot County. The Talbot County Sheriff's Office deputies and staff participated in handing out the gifts to children identified through the public school system as needing assistance during the holiday season.
Sheriff Joe Gamble and School Resource Deputies coordinated with Talbot County public schools to identify the specific needs within the community.
Sheriff Gamble commented on the partnership, stating, "we are proud and excited to team up with such giving and caring people doing business in Talbot County. Knowing we are all making a difference to children in need in our community is a very satisfying endeavor."
