Local Man Arrested for Driving Under the Influence at Burger King

CAMBRIDGE, MD - Police officers responded to a Burger King location on August 31, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m. following reports of an unconscious person in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle running with the driver still inside.


The driver was identified as Jocqui Darnell Jenkins, a 28-year-old resident of Hurlock, Maryland. Officers attempted multiple times to wake Jenkins before successfully rousing him.


During their interaction, officers observed signs of intoxication and detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emanating from the vehicle. Vomit was also observed near the vehicle.


Jenkins acknowledged to officers that he had consumed alcoholic beverages prior to driving to the Burger King location. When asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Jenkins declined. Officers then placed him under arrest and transported him to the police department for additional testing.


At the police station, Jenkins refused to submit to a breath test. He was subsequently released on citations pending further legal proceedings.


Jenkins faces charges for Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol.
