Caroline County, MD - A Caroline County man has been arrested and charged with failing to register as a sex offender after missing his required reporting date earlier this month.

Victor Jesus Gonzalez-Bamaca failed to report to the Caroline County Sheriff's Office on October 14, 2025, to complete his mandatory sex offender registration. Following his failure to appear, authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Gonzalez-Bamaca.

The Caroline County Sheriff's Office located Gonzalez-Bamaca at his residence on October 24, 2025. A deputy responded to the location and took him into custody without incident.

He was subsequently charged with one count of failure to register as a sex offender. Gonzalez-Bamaca appeared before the Caroline County District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance. The commissioner ordered him to be held at the Caroline County Detention Center with no bond pending further court proceedings.

The arrest demonstrates the sheriff's office's commitment to enforcing sex offender registration requirements. These laws require registered offenders to maintain current information with law enforcement agencies as mandated by state regulations.
