Local Man Arrested for Theft at Giant, Facing Additional Warrant Charges

Easton, MD - Officers responded to a theft report at Giant on Elliott Road on October 27, 2025. Upon arrival, they located a suspect matching the description provided. The individual was carrying a trash bag containing stolen merchandise valued at approximately $367.00.

The suspect was identified as Trey M. Short, 38, of Hurlock, Maryland. He was taken into custody at the scene. During the investigation, Officers discovered that Short had an active extraditable warrant from Pennsylvania for Violation of Probation.

Short was transported to the Talbot County Detention Center. He was served with a criminal citation for Theft: $100-$1,500. A detainer was also placed on him related to the outstanding warrant from Pennsylvania.
