Local Man Arrested on Multiple Firearm Charges Following Walmart Incident

Easton, MD - The Easton Police Department has arrested a 20-year-old Cambridge man on multiple firearm-related charges following an incident at a local Walmart earlier this year. Jeremiah I. Carter was taken into custody on October 14, 2025, when officers served an arrest warrant at his residence. Carter faces seven charges including Possession of a Regulated Firearm being under 21, Handgun on Person, Loaded Handgun on Person, Handgun in Vehicle, Loaded Handgun in Vehicle, Alter Physical Evidence Crime Procedure, and Firearm Access by Minors. Following his arrest, Carter was transported to the Talbot County Detention Center. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on June 16, 2025. Officers responded to the Walmart location after receiving reports of an assault in progress and an individual in possession of a firearm. Police conducted interviews with witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage from the scene. The investigation revealed that an altercation took place in the store's parking lot. During the confrontation, Carter retrieved a handgun and displayed the weapon to others present. Detectives launched a comprehensive investigation following the initial incident. Through their efforts, investigators were able to locate and recover the firearm that Carter possessed during the June altercation.
