Man Arrested for Second Littering Offense After Discarding Citation

Wicomico County, MD - A man was arrested for littering after he threw his criminal citation for littering on the ground, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.
The incident occurred on August 20, 2025, at a local convenience store. A Sergeant from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office was fueling up his patrol vehicle when he observed Dominic Everetts consuming an alcoholic beverage near the side of the building.
Everetts finished his drink and threw the aluminum can on the ground. He then walked to the front of the store and began loitering next to a trash can.
The Sergeant approached Everetts and advised him of the violation. Everetts was issued a criminal citation for littering and was directed to leave the store property at the request of store employees.
While walking from the property, Everetts crumpled up the citation he had just received. He threw the littering citation to the ground.
The Sergeant contacted Everetts again for the second littering offense. Based on Everetts' complete disregard for the previously issued citation, the Sergeant determined that Everetts would likely disregard the criminal citation and fail to appear in court.
Everetts was arrested and transported to the Wicomico County Detention Center. He was released to the Central Booking unit to be seen by a District Court Commissioner.
On August 21, 2025, Everetts was released on his own recognizance. Everetts has an initial court appearance on 10/6/2025 at 8:30 AM in the District Court of Maryland in Wicomico County (Courtroom 2).
