MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO HOMICIDE IN MILLSBORO, DELAWARE

Millsboro, DE - The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit has charged 46-year-old Daniel Steele in connection with the murder of a family member that occurred on Sunday evening in Millsboro, Delaware.
On June 15, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., troopers from the Delaware State Police were dispatched to a residence in the 22000 block of Phillips Hill Road after a family member reported being unable to reach a 75-year-old woman for several days.
Upon arrival, troopers found the woman unresponsive on the couch. Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene and confirmed that she was deceased. Steele, who was present at the residence, was taken into custody without incident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Steele had been involved in a physical altercation with the victim inside the home. During the confrontation, the victim was assaulted and lost consciousness. No medical assistance was sought after the incident.
Steele was subsequently transported to Troop 4 and charged with First-Degree Murder. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution, with a cash bond set at $1,000,000.
