Salisbury, MD - A 31-year-old Salisbury man, Jabril Roynell Walters, has been apprehended in Auburn, Maine, in connection with a fatal shooting in Wicomico County, Maryland that took place earlier this year.

Walters is facing charges related to the shooting death of his father, Roy Walters, on February 22, 2025. He has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.

Walters is also facing five counts of first-degree assault stemming from an earlier incident in July 2024. Authorities say Walters is awaiting extradition back to Maryland.

Investigators located Walters with the assistance of the Maine Violent Offender Task Force. Officials believe the suspect fled to Maine after the February shooting and had been living under an assumed identity.

The Salisbury Police Department initially responded to a welfare call shortly before 6 p.m. on February 22, 2025, in the 1100 block of Parsons Road. Officers discovered Roy Walters unresponsive on the floor inside his apartment. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is heading the investigation, which remains ongoing.
