Man Arrested in Millsboro on Drug and Weapon Charges

Sussex County, DE - Delaware State Police arrested 56-year-old Joseph Anderson of Millsboro following a search warrant executed in Long Neck yesterday. The arrest comes after an investigation into illegal narcotics distribution from a residence on Ritter Drive.

On February 11, 2026, members of the Sussex County Governor's Task Force, the Sussex County Drug Unit, and the Special Operations Response Team searched the property. During the operation, police say Anderson attempted to discard narcotics in the kitchen sink before being detained without incident.

Authorities recovered several weapons from the scene, including three shotguns, a muzzleloader, and a handgun, along with assorted ammunition.

The search also yielded approximately 4.11 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, and a Diazepam pill.

Anderson was transported to Troop 4 and charged with multiple felonies, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $67,500 secured bond.
