MAN HELD WITHOUT BOND FOLLOWING ARREST AFTER GIVING FALSE NAME AND IN POSSESSION OF CDS

Queen Anne's County, MD - On May 14, 2025, Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office Deputy First Class (DFC) James Bradley, during his routine patrol, identified a vehicle with visible equipment violations. DFC Bradley initiated a traffic stop on Eastbound Rt. 50 & Outlet Center Drive in Queen Anne's County, Maryland.
Upon stopping the vehicle, DFC Bradley identified the driver as William Hemsley. While conducting the traffic stop, DFC Bradley noticed controlled dangerous substances (CDS) in plain view inside the vehicle.
A probable cause search was conducted and 24 capsules of suspected heroin and fentanyl, alongside various other CDS and paraphernalia was located.
Hemsley was arrested and charged accordingly with multiple drug offenses listed below. Hemsley is also facing charges for attempting to conceal his true identity by providing a false name.
William Hemsley has been charged with the following:
- CDS Possession w/ Intent to Distribute Narcotics x 2
- CDS Possession - Not Cannabis x2
- CDS Possession of Paraphernalia x3
- Hindering & Obstructing
- Fraud Personal Identity to Avoid Prosecution
- Multiple traffic charges
Hemsley was seen by a District Court Commissioner on May 15, 2025, and was held without bond. He was then given a bond review by the Honorable Judge Frank Kratovil Jr, which also agreed that Hemsley should be held without bond.
