Wicomico County, MD - Anthony Conway, a 37-year-old resident of Mardela Springs, Maryland, has been sentenced in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County after pleading guilty to serious drug-related charges. The proceedings, overseen by the Honorable Judge Daniel M. Long, resulted in Conway receiving a 40-year sentence, with 20 years suspended. Additionally, five years of this sentence are mandatory.

Conway's guilty plea encompassed charges of possession of a large quantity of cocaine, manufacturing cocaine, and conspiracy to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute. These charges arose from an extensive investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Wicomico Narcotics Unit, focusing on the distribution of controlled dangerous substances within the county. The investigation, which lasted several months, led to the arrest of multiple individuals involved in the drug trade.

Jamie L. Dykes, the State's Attorney for Wicomico County, emphasized the harmful impact of illegal drug use in the community and highlighted the accountability of those who distribute these substances. Dykes expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of various law enforcement agencies, including the DEA, Maryland State Police, and local police departments, in successfully concluding the case.

Senior Assistant State's Attorney Patrizia J. Coletta, who prosecuted the case, was also recognized for her contributions to the legal process.
