Wicomico County, MD - The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) has announced that repair work will soon begin on two bridges over the Wicomico River in downtown Salisbury. The affected bridges are located on US 50 (Ocean Gateway) and MD 991 (Main Street).

Starting Monday, July 7, 2025, at 7 a.m., crews will commence repairs aimed at maintaining the structural integrity and safety of both bridges.

The planned work includes replacing dolphins and fenders, as well as performing epoxy crack sealing on the underside of the bridges. The project is anticipated to be completed by May 2026, weather permitting.

The repair works are expected to cause minimal interference with traffic. SHA has indicated that intermittent single-lane closures may be necessary throughout the process, but significant disruptions to vehicular traffic are not anticipated.
