Maryland State Police Arrest Upper Marlboro Man After His Vehicle Strikes Two MSP Troopers

State of MD - On Sunday, March 22, 2026, Maryland State Police arrested a man for suspected impaired driving. The arrest occurred after the suspect's vehicle struck two Maryland State Troopers in Prince George's County, Maryland.

The driver of the involved Maserati sedan was identified as 31-year-old Avery Alexander Bost of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Bost faces charges for suspected impaired driving along with other related traffic offenses.

The incident happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Branch Avenue near Allentown Road.

According to the preliminary investigation, a marked patrol vehicle was parked behind an unoccupied vehicle in the left lane. A second marked patrol vehicle was parked behind the first. Both police vehicles had their emergency lights activated.

Bost's Maserati struck the rear of the second patrol vehicle. This initial collision caused the police vehicle to strike a trooper standing outside, as well as the rear of the first patrol vehicle.

Ambulances transported both troopers to a local hospital. They have since been released.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack are currently leading the ongoing investigation.
