CHURCH HILL, MD - The Maryland State Police are conducting an investigation into a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred this morning in Queen Anne's County, Maryland.

The crash claimed the life of Mickie Mowbray, 58, of Greensboro, Maryland, who was the driver and sole occupant of a Kia passenger vehicle. Emergency medical personnel pronounced Mowbray deceased at the scene.

Two individuals in a Mazda passenger vehicle, a 22-year-old male driver and a 20-year-old female passenger, were transported by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of their injuries.

The collision occurred at approximately 9:10 a.m. on the southbound side of U.S. Route 301, near Price Station Road. The impact caused the Kia to overturn.

Investigators suspect that speed may have played a role in the incident.

Southbound lanes of Route 301 were closed for approximately three hours to allow emergency personnel and investigators to manage the scene.

The Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff, Queen Anne's County Fire Department, and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration provided assistance at the scene.
