Maryland State Police is Investigating a Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland

Queen Anne's County, MD - The Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred this afternoon in Queen Anne's County, claiming the lives of two individuals.
The incident happened at approximately 12:26 p.m. on southbound U.S. Route 301 at Price Station Road. According to preliminary investigations, a utility truck traveling south on U.S. Route 301 collided with a Toyota Camry attempting to cross the highway.
The occupants of the Camry, identified as Valerie Haines, 63, and Patricia Mead, 86, both residents of Ridgely, Maryland, were pronounced deceased at the scene by Queen Anne's County Emergency Medical Services personnel. The driver of the utility truck, a 39-year-old male, was reported uninjured in the crash.
The crash caused the closure of all southbound lanes on U.S. Route 301. Emergency response and assistance at the scene were provided by the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff, Queen Anne's County Fire Department, and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation. Once completed, their findings will be submitted to the Queen Anne's County State's Attorney's Office, which will determine whether charges will be filed in relation to the incident.
