MARYLAND STATE POLICE MAKE AN ARREST IN SALISBURY SHOOTING FROM JUNE 2024

Wicomico County, MD - Maryland State Police have made a significant breakthrough in a tragic case that unfolded in Salisbury, Maryland, earlier this year.
Fernando Medino-Moreta, a 28-year-old resident of Lincoln, Delaware, has been arrested and charged with first- and second-degree murder, along with several related charges, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in June 2024 in Salisbury, Maryland.
The victim, Franklin Abraham Perez Rodriguez, a 23-year-old from Miami, Florida, was shot on the morning of June 10, 2024. Rodriguez was transported to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation took a pivotal turn when Maryland State Police were alerted by Delaware law enforcement about a lead from an anonymous caller. The caller's information directed authorities to a parking lot in Millsboro, Delaware, where they located a vehicle matching the description provided.
The driver, identified as Medino-Moreta, was taken into custody following a traffic stop conducted by Delaware State Police.
The initial response to the crime involved officers from the Salisbury Police Department, who were on the scene at E. Naylor Mill Road, where the shooting occurred.
The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit was brought in to lead the investigation. They are being assisted by Salisbury Police Dept, Delaware State Police and the Office of the State's Attorney in Wicomico County.
