MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING SERIOUS HIT AND RUN MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH IN QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY

Queen Anne's County, MD - The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police are currently investigating a serious hit-and-run incident involving four vehicles on US-50 in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. The collision occurred yesterday evening, May 27, 2025, and the MDTA Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation.
At around 6:40 p.m., officers from the Bay Bridge Detachment were dispatched to the westbound lanes of US-50, just before the westbound span of the Bay Bridge. Upon arrival, they found that three vehicles-a black Scion, a silver Jeep Wrangler, and a gold Honda Odyssey-had been involved in a significant crash.
The driver of the Scion sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital with the assistance of the Maryland State Police Aviation Command.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a tractor-trailer was also involved in the crash. It is believed that the tractor-trailer struck the Scion; however, the driver of the tractor-trailer did not remain at the scene and continued across the bridge.
Efforts are currently underway to identify the tractor-trailer and its driver. The MDTA Police urge anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward with information that may assist in the investigation.
