Mason Dixon Sports Complex in Delmar to close for construction

Delmar, Md. - The Mason Dixon Sports Complex in Delmar is scheduled to close to the public on Tuesday, October 7, for the first phase of a park development project.
The initial construction phase will involve several key updates to the complex. This includes the demolition of current fencing and existing structures to prepare the area for redevelopment.
The project will also reorient the sports fields, which involves significant site work and the implementation of a new stormwater management system.
Additionally, phase I will see the construction of new walking paths throughout the park. The installation of new fencing, batting cages, and an irrigation system are also planned. This first phase of the project is expected to be completed in the early spring of 2026.
During the closure, park visitors are encouraged to use Gordy Park, which is located at 703 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Delmar.
