Wicomico County, MD - On June 26, 2023, Matthew Leitzel, a retired Police Captain for the York City Police Department, will be joining the Executive Office of Wicomico County, filling the vacant position of the Assistant Director of Administration.Leitzel has not only retired as a Police Captain, he also served as a SWAT Team Commander, Police Firearms Head instructor, and Educator. Mr. Leitzel comes to Wicomico County with over 23 years of government experience.He earned his bachelor's degree in Education from Bloomsburg University and is working on earning his Master's Degree in Applied Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
