Metal Pole Building Fire Under Investigation in Stevensville

Queen Anne's County, MD - On July 9, 2025 at approximately 3:48 PM, a structure fire occurred on the 100 block of Benton Court, involving a metal pole building in Stevensville, Queen Anne's County, Maryland.

The fire was reported by a passerby and caused an estimated $25,000 in damages, including $20,000 to the structure and $5,000 to its contents.

The Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department was the primary responding agency, and were assisted by a total of 34 firefighters from their department and assisting mutual aid companies. The fire, which required a single alarm, was brought under control within 44 minutes.

The fire originated in the interior of the structure, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
