National News - The U.S. Embassy in Mexico is advising American tourists to shelter in place following multiple explosions, car bombs, and widespread gunfire throughout Puerto Vallarta.

Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, also known as "El Mencho", the leader of the Mexican cartel, is reported dead, and his followers have turned Jalisco into a war zone.

The Mexican Army claims to have killed the most dangerous narcotics overlord in the country. We are now witnessing roadblocks, vehicle fires, and armed clashes across Puerto Vallarta.

The U.S. Embassy specifically highlights the following locations as areas of concern: Jalisco State (including Puerto Vallarta, Chapala, and Guadalajara), Tamaulipas State (including Reynosa and other municipalities), areas of Michoacán State, Guerrero State, and Nuevo León State.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
