Milford Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Collision on North Rehoboth Boulevard
Milford, DE - The Milford Police Department is currently investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian. The incident occurred early Monday morning on January 19, 2026. Officers responded to the scene on North Rehoboth Boulevard at approximately 6:32 a.m.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2024 BMW X3 was traveling northbound near Perdue Farms. An 81-year-old female pedestrian entered the northbound travel lane for reasons that are currently unknown. The vehicle subsequently struck the pedestrian.
Police and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel responded to the site. They attempted life-saving measures on the victim before transporting her to a local hospital. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Authorities are withholding the victim's identity until her family is notified. The 75-year-old driver involved in the crash did not sustain any injuries.
North Rehoboth Boulevard was closed for approximately 2.5 hours while officers investigated the scene. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Police request that anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information contact Cpl. G. Smith at (302) 422-8081.
