Millington Assault Investigation Leads to DUI Arrest

Kent County, MD - Corporal M. Piasecki responded to a reported assault in the 300 block of Cypress Street in Millington, Kent County, Maryland.

During the preliminary investigation, the suspect drove up to the location. He was identified as 31-year-old Erick Yovani Urbina Cernas of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

While interacting with Urbina Cernas, indicators of impairment were observed. He was subsequently asked to complete standardized field sobriety tests, on which he performed poorly. As a result of the ongoing investigation, Urbina Cernas was placed under arrest.

Urbina Cernas faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving while impaired by alcohol. He was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol per se and driving while impaired by alcohol while transporting a minor.

Following his arrest, he was taken before the District Court Commissioner and committed to the Kent County Detention Center without bond.
