Milton Woman Charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest

Milton, DE - A woman was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following a traffic stop on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., a Milton Police officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Union Street and Federal Street in Milton, Delaware, after observing a vehicle fail to use its turn signal.

During the stop, a female passenger, later identified as Joanna Peterman, became agitated and began yelling at the officers. According to the report, she refused to comply with multiple commands to stop her behavior.

When officers attempted to take her into custody, Peterman allegedly continued to be disorderly and resisted the arrest. She was successfully taken into custody and transported to the Milton Police Department for processing.

Peterman has been charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. She was released on $1,100 unsecured bail and is scheduled for a future court appearance.
