Missing 3-Year-Old Found Safe Behind a Corn Field in Centreville, MD

Centreville, MD - A three-year-old child reported missing in Queen Anne's County was safely located following a multi-agency search effort on Friday, August 1st, 2025.
At approximately 11:42 a.m., the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff received a report of a missing child, identified as Aldo Ramirez, who had wandered away from his residence in the 300 block of Roe Ingleside Road in Centreville, MD. He was accompanied by the family dog at the time of his disappearance.
Upon receiving the report, the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff immediately initiated a search and called upon additional resources to assist. The search operation included K-9 units from both the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff and Maryland State Police.
The Sheriff's Office drone unit and patrol officers, the Queen Anne's County Department of Emergency Services, and the Maryland State Police Aviation Command (Trooper 2) also joined the efforts.
At approximately 1:57 p.m., Trooper 2's aerial unit identified a possible sighting of the child in tall grass behind a corn field located near the home. By 2:03 p.m., units on the ground, in coordination with the Sheriff's Office drone team, were able to confirm Aldo's safe recovery. He was promptly reunited with his family.
Queen Anne's County Sheriff Gary Hofmann released a statement, emphasizing the importance of rapid action in missing child cases. "When a child goes missing, every second counts. Our sole focus becomes finding that child and bringing them home safely. That's why we do this work, to stand with every member of the community in their most difficult moments and to act with urgency, compassion, and resolve," said Hofmann.
Sheriff Hofmann also expressed gratitude to the public and all agencies involved in the search effort. "We're incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from the public, our partners, and all who assisted in the search. Thanks to those efforts, Aldo was safely reunited with his family. Queen Anne's County truly represents the best of what community means: taking care of one another, working together, and never giving up."
The successful recovery of Aldo Ramirez demonstrates the effectiveness of collaboration among public safety agencies and the benefits of utilizing advanced search technologies such as aerial drones and K-9 units.
