Motorcyclist Dies in Millsboro Crash

MILLSBORO, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened on Saturday evening in Millsboro, Delaware, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist.


The incident took place on September 13, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m. According to the preliminary investigation, a Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed in the right lane of Dupont Boulevard (US 113). The motorcycle failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Centerview Drive and entered the intersection.


At the same time, a Chevrolet Malibu, traveling westbound on Centerview Drive with a green light, was proceeding through the intersection. The front of the motorcycle struck the left front side of the Malibu. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the vehicle.


The operator of the motorcycle, a 52-year-old man from York, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a DOT-certified helmet.


His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.


The driver of the Malibu, a 21-year-old man from Millsboro, Delaware, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.


The intersection was closed for approximately three and a half hours as the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted its investigation and cleared the scene.
