Moving of Natural Gas Tanks Will Require Overnight Temporary Road Closures

Worcester County, MD - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is set to support a major transport operation necessitating temporary road closures in Worcester County. In assistance to a private transport company, the movement involves five oversized natural gas tanks along US 113, known as Worcester Highway.
The scheduled closures will occur starting around midnight on select days: Monday, June 9; Wednesday, June 11; Friday, June 13; Monday, June 16; and Wednesday, June 18.
During these times, both north and southbound lanes of US 113 will be closed between MD 367 (Bishopville Road) and Kepler Lane. The highway will be reopened by 5 a.m. each day. All activities are dependent on weather conditions.
State Highway Administration maintenance crews, with the support of the Maryland State Police, will facilitate the road closures. The organization values the public's patience during this period, as efforts are made to enhance Maryland's transportation infrastructure.
Drivers are advised to remain attentive, observe reduced speed limits, and adapt to changing traffic patterns within the work zone. Adhering to these guidelines is crucial for safety.
