Multiple Vehicles Targeted in Arson Attempt at Murphy’s Transport in Ridgely

Caroline County, MD - Authorities are investigating an arson attempt involving multiple vehicles at Murphy's Transport, located at 421 West Belle Road, Ridgely, MD.  

Deputy State Fire Marshals confirmed that an unidentified individual attempted to set several vehicles on fire. The incident was discovered on the morning of July 7, 2025 by the business owner, who reported significant fire damage to the interior of one truck.

Upon further inspection, additional vehicles on the property were found to have been targeted as well.  

The total estimated damage from the incident is approximately $100,000. Following the discovery, the owner contacted the Maryland State Police, who subsequently alerted the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The Office is now leading the investigation.
