Ocean City, MD - The Town of Ocean City has announced the implementation of a Special Event Zone and enhanced parking measures in preparation for the Endless Summer Cruisin' Ocean City event.

The measures will be in effect from Thursday, October 9, through Sunday, October 12, 2025, as thousands of car enthusiasts are expected to visit the resort community.

The Ocean City Police Department has taken proactive steps to ensure public safety during the event. Within the designated Special Event Zone, speed limits will be reduced and fines for violations will be increased. The maximum speed within the corporate limits of the Town of Ocean City is 30 mph, except in certain residential areas which have lower marked speed limits.

Legislation signed in 2020 allows for enhanced penalties for certain motor vehicle violations during special events. Similar to construction zones, offenders may face higher fines or arrest depending on the severity of the offense.

The enforcement will be conducted by officers from multiple agencies including the Ocean City Police Department, Maryland State Police, and Worcester County Sheriff's Office.

Residents and visitors can expect a significant police presence and strict enforcement of all traffic laws during the event period. Heavy traffic congestion and possible changes to normal traffic patterns are anticipated throughout the weekend.

The Town of Ocean City has also enacted Resolution 2025-10, which designates specific dates for enhanced paid parking rates and penalties during special events.

These measures will be implemented from Thursday, October 9, to Sunday, October 12, 2025, to help manage increased visitor numbers and support public safety efforts.

The enhanced parking penalties focus on prohibited parking areas, including no-parking signs, red curbs, fire hydrants, and sidewalks. These measures are designed to improve traffic flow, parking compliance, and enforcement during high-attendance periods.

Officials urge all spectators to keep sidewalks clear for pedestrians and discourage drivers from performing tire spins or burnouts. These actions are considered dangerous and illegal. Officers will enforce laws against both drivers and spectators who incite reckless behavior.

With high pedestrian traffic expected during the event, everyone is encouraged to practice pedestrian safety. This includes using marked crosswalks, waiting for signals to change, and ensuring drivers can see pedestrians before crossing.
