Ocean City, MD - The Town of Ocean City has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for residents in the 120th Street bayside area following a water main break on Coastal Highway.
The advisory affects customers who experienced water pressure loss in the specified area today. Residents can view a map to determine if their location falls within the affected zone.
Safety Recommendations
Health officials recommend that residents boil all water used for:
- Food preparation
- Teeth brushing
- Ice making
- Drinking
Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute to ensure safety. Residents should allow the water to cool before use. Ice made within the past 12 hours should not be consumed.
Water may be used for bathing and washing without boiling.
Monitoring and Resolution
The Town of Ocean City and the Maryland Department of the Environment are actively monitoring the water system. The advisory will be lifted or revised as necessary once water service and quality are fully restored.
Water quality tests must verify the safety of the water supply before the advisory is removed. This process may take several days.
