OCEAN CITY, MD - The Town of Ocean City is monitoring a coastal storm forecasted to bring hazardous weather conditions to the area from Saturday, October 11, through Monday morning, October 13, 2025. Officials are advising residents and visitors to prepare for potential impacts.

According to a forecast from the National Weather Service in Wakefield, the developing storm is expected to cause widespread rain and increasingly gusty winds. The most significant effects, including the potential for heavy rain, strong winds, and moderate to major coastal flooding, are expected to begin late Saturday.

The weather service has highlighted several key concerns for the weekend. Strong winds are predicted to develop after midnight on Saturday and continue into Sunday evening, with possible gusts of 50-55+ mph along the coast. These winds may lead to isolated power outages.

Additionally, elevated "King Tides" are anticipated throughout the weekend, which will likely worsen the effects of coastal flooding. Hazardous surf conditions and dangerous rip currents are expected at all beaches.

Town of Ocean City Emergency Services personnel are actively monitoring the storm and coordinating preparedness measures.

Officials are urging the public to "Know Your Zone and Division," stay informed about the storm's progress, and prepare for impacts from heavy rain, flooding, and high winds.

To receive the latest official information, residents and visitors are encouraged to sign up for the Town's e-news alerts at oceancitymd.gov/enews. Updates will also be posted through the Town's official channels, including its website, social media pages on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), and government access channels.

Officials remind everyone to exercise caution, avoid flood-prone areas, and never attempt to drive through standing water.
