Ocean City, MD-Put your green thumbs to work, Ocean City! The town is all set to celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, April 26, at the Ocean City Elementary School (OCES). The hardworking Ocean City Beautification Committee and the students of OCES bring this long-standing tradition to us.

A big highlight of our Arbor Day celebration is when our students help the Mayor and City Council plant a tree. This special event is part of the Beautification Committee's laudable TreeMendous Program.

The celebration begins at 9:30 a.m. with the majestic presentation of the flags by the American Legion Color Guard. But it's not just about planting trees! Our students will present skits, poems, songs, and artwork showcasing trees' vital role in our environment.

After these delightful performances and the tree planting, the kids will see our brave Ocean City Police Department's mounted police and K-9 units in action.

But here's the best part-everyone's invited! Whether you're a local or a visitor, join the Mayor and City Council along with the Beautification Committee to uphold this tradition and help keep Ocean City...well, beautiful!

For more information, call Donna Greenwood, the Beautification Committee Chairperson, at 410-289-7060 or visit www.oceancitymd.gov/ocbc. Come, let's celebrate the beauty of nature together!
