Ocean City Police Department to Host National Night Out Event on August 5, 2025

Ocean City, MD, - The Ocean City Police Department is set to host its annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Northside Park's West Lagoon Field, located at 200 125th Street, Ocean City, Maryland.
National Night Out is a celebration of community partnerships and public safety, bringing together residents and first responders in a night of engagement, education, and entertainment. The Ocean City Police Department has announced this year's event will feature an expanded lineup of participants and activities to ensure an engaging experience for attendees of all ages.
The event will showcase a variety of first responder agencies that play a critical role in maintaining public safety in Ocean City and the surrounding areas. Confirmed participants include the Ocean City Police Department, Fire Department, Fire Marshal's Office, Emergency Services, Beach Patrol, Quick Response Team, Forensic Services Unit, and the Mounted and K-9 Units.
Additional support will be provided by the Worcester County Sheriff's Office, Maryland State Police, U.S. Coast Guard, and Maryland National Guard Counterdrug Program. Community partners such as Ocean City Tourism, Atlantic General Hospital, the Maryland Department of Transportation, Worcester County Health Department, and the Worcester County Child Advocacy Center will also be in attendance.
Attendees can expect a wide range of activities during the event, including the chance to interact with first responders, explore career opportunities in law enforcement, and observe live demonstrations from specialized units such as the bomb squad, drones, mounted patrol, and K-9 teams.
Event-goers will also have the opportunity to:
- Engage in family-friendly competitions such as tug-of-war and cornhole games.
- Watch demonstrations and tour emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire trucks, and police command trucks.
- Sign up for the Citizens Police Academy or Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program.
Additionally, a dunk tank featuring Officer Gable will offer attendees a chance to raise funds for the Ocean City Police Morale Committee.
For $2, participants can take three attempts to dunk the officer, with all proceeds supporting wellness initiatives and special projects benefiting the department's officers.
To add to the festivities, Kona Ice will be on-site, providing sweet treats to help participants cool off during the summer evening.
