Ocean City Police Investigating Overnight Shooting Incident

Ocean City, MD - The Ocean City Police Department is conducting an investigation into an overnight shooting that occurred at approximately 12:46 a.m. on July 5, 2025, at the intersection of 28th Street and Philadelphia Avenue in Ocean City, Maryland.


Responding officers arrived at the scene after reports of gunfire and identified an 18-year-old male victim from Cambridge, Maryland. The individual had sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.


Ocean City Emergency Medical Services personnel administered immediate medical attention before transporting the victim to Tidal Health. The injuries sustained are reported as non-life-threatening.


Preliminary findings suggest challenges in the investigation as the victim has been uncooperative with law enforcement efforts. The Ocean City Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division, specifically the Major Crimes Unit, will continue its inquiry and gather pertinent evidence regarding the case.
