Ocean City Police Officer Injured During Theft Investigation; Need Your Help Identifying Suspect

Ocean City, MD - The Ocean City Police Department is actively investigating a theft that occurred at a convenience store near 120th Street and Coastal Highway. The incident took place on the evening of July 3, 2025, and resulted in a confrontation between officers and a male suspect.
At approximately 11:19 p.m., officers stopped an individual believed to be connected to the theft. However, the suspect resisted arrest, leading to an altercation that caused an injury to one of the officers.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and was last seen heading northbound along Coastal Highway near 120th Street. He is described as a white male, standing between 5'10" to 6'00" tall, with an average build and brown hair.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a gray short-sleeve shirt with a University of South Carolina Gamecocks emblem, accompanied by the word "Football," light-colored shorts, and carrying a black backpack.
