OCEAN CITY POLICE RECOVER THREE HANDGUNS DURING TRAFFIC STOP

Ocean City, MD - Ocean City Police recovered three loaded handguns and arrested three individuals during a traffic stop on Saturday night, June 14, 2025. The traffic stop took place at approximately 7:45 p.m. near North Division Street and Baltimore Avenue.
While interacting with the driver, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that all four occupants were under the age of 21, making them ineligible to legally possess marijuana.
As a result, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted.
During the search, officers found one loaded handgun inside the vehicle and two additional loaded handguns in the possession of Tyshawn Yerby, one of the occupants that was in the vehicle. Marijuana was also discovered inside the vehicle and on one of the individuals.
Investigators later determined that two of the recovered firearms had been reported stolen in Baltimore County in 2023.
Following the investigation, police arrested three individuals: two adults and one juvenile. A total of three individuals faced charges related to the handguns, while one additional occupant was released at the scene.

- Oreese Stevenson Jr., 20, Baltimore, Maryland
Stevenson Jr. has been charged with five handgun-related offenses and theft of property valued between $100 and $1,500. He appeared before a Maryland District Court Commissioner and was ordered to be held without bond.
- Tyshawn Yerby, 20, Baltimore, Maryland
Yerby faces charges for ten handgun-related offenses and theft of property valued between $100 and $1,500. He also appeared before a Maryland District Court Commissioner and was held without bond.
- **17-Year-Old Juvenile, Middle River, Maryland
The juvenile was charged as an adult with five handgun-related offenses and theft of property valued between $100 and $1,500. The juvenile appeared before a Maryland District Court Commissioner and was held without bond.
All three individuals were transferred to Worcester County Jail.
