Ocean City Police Seek Public's Help in 2024 Bank Robbery Investigation

Ocean City, MD - The Ocean City Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a bank robbery that took place in October 2024. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to the identification and conviction of the individual responsible.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:10 a.m. on October 25, 2024, at the Truist Bank located at 4604 Coastal Highway. According to police, the suspect entered the bank and passed a handwritten note to a teller demanding money. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency and was last seen heading northbound on Coastal Highway.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 50s to early 60s, approximately 5'11" tall with an average build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, gloves, glasses, and a medical-style mask.

The Ocean City Police Department's Major Crimes Unit has been investigating the case for over a year, but the suspect remains unidentified. To encourage new leads, the Mayor and City Council have authorized the reward through Resolution No. 2025-30.

The reward is offered "for information that leads to the apprehension, arrest, and conviction of the perpetrator of the armed robbery that occurred on October 25, 2024, at 4604 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, Maryland 21842; and the payment of the reward shall comply with all regulations and restrictions set forth in Section 58-2 of the Town Code."
