OCEAN PINES HOUSE FIRE CONFIRMED AS ARSON
Ocean Pines, MD-The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office has confirmed that the single-story house fire in the 700 block of Ocean Parkway in Ocean Pines on March 29, 2024, resulted from Arson.
The Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department responded to the emergency at approximately 5:40 PM. Firefighters' heroic actions confined the damage to just one bedroom and ensured the safety of the residents, who managed to escape without any injuries.
The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office coordinated a meticulous investigation into the fire's origin and cause, ultimately revealing the discouraging truth that this was a deliberate act of Arson. The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office, consulted the Worcester County State's Attorney's Office and Ocean City Fire Marshal's Office, and will be pursing criminal charges against the suspect.
Firefighters from Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department were assisted by the volunteer fire departments of Showell, Berlin, Ocean City, Bishopville, Selbyville, and Frankford.
