STATE OF DE - The Justice of the Peace is implementing several operational changes throughout the State of Delaware. These adjustments address a current shortage of judicial resources and will remain in effect until further notice.

Schedule modifications begin on Sunday, January 4, 2026, for Court 7 in Dover, Delaware. This location will close nightly from midnight until 6:00 a.m.

Court 7 and Court 3 in Georgetown will operate daily from 6:00 a.m. to midnight. These hours apply to weekends and holidays as well.

Service remains available for those needing assistance during overnight hours. Justice of the Peace Court 11 in New Castle continues to operate 24 hours a day. The Statewide Virtual Hearing Criminal Court operation also remains available around the clock.

Additional changes affect Court 8 in Smyrna and Court 6 in Harrington. Court 8 will close indefinitely starting Monday, January 5.

All business for this location is being redirected to Court 7. While Court 6 remains open Monday through Friday, a judge will not be available on Fridays.
