PARKING VIOLATION TURNS INTO MUCH BIGGER ISSUE FOR MILFORD MAN

Milford, DE - On the evening of April 26, 2025, officers from the Milford Police Department noticed a vehicle parked in Bicentennial Park, located in the 200 block of NE Front Street.


Since the park was closed for the evening, the officers approached the driver for further inquiry. The driver was identified as Gerald Dixon, a 38-year-old resident of Milford, DE.


During their interaction, the officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight inside the vehicle. Upon further investigation, they found that Dixon was in possession of powdered cocaine, as well as a Smith & Wesson handgun and ammunition.


As a result of these findings, Dixon was apprehended and faced several charges, including possession, purchase, or control of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person who also possesses a controlled substance; carrying a concealed deadly weapon; possession and consumption of a controlled or counterfeit substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and a violation for being in a city park after hours.


Mr. Dixon appeared before Justice of the Peace Court 7, where he was granted an unsecured bail amounting to $31,001. Following his release from police custody, it was indicated that Dixon would be placed under pre-trial supervision at a later date.
