Parsonsburg Man and Brother of Local Sheriff Charged in Fatal Crash
Ocean Pines, MD - A Parsonsburg man, and the brother of a local sheriff, has been charged after a year-long investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in Ocean Pines, Worcester County, Maryland.
The incident took place on the morning of November 16, 2024, at approximately 8:43 AM on Ocean Parkway, between Briarcrest Drive and Beaconhill Road.
According to the investigation, a vehicle operated by William R. Lewis Jr., brother of Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis, left the right side of the roadway and struck a pedestrian in front of 47 Ocean Parkway in Ocean Pines, MD.
The victim, identified as 35-year-old Ramon Ramirez Castillo of Salisbury, Maryland, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Following a lengthy 1-year reconstruction investigation of the crash, William Lewis Jr. has been charged with two offenses: causing serious physical injury or death to a vulnerable individual while operating a motor vehicle, and negligent driving in a careless and imprudent manner.
A preliminary inquiry is scheduled for December 18, 2025, at the District Court of Maryland in Snow Hill.
