Philadelphia Man Arrested on Drug and Weapon Charges Following Millsboro Traffic Stop
MILLSBORO, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested 61-year-old Jose Morales-Colon of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, following a traffic stop in Millsboro, Delaware.
The incident occurred on December 14, 2025, at approximately 12:01 a.m., when a trooper observed a gray Dodge Charger traveling northbound on Dupont Boulevard near Centerview Drive with a headlight out.
The trooper initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Morales-Colon. During the interaction, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and noted that Morales-Colon showed multiple signs of impairment.
Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered at the scene, leading to Morales-Colon being taken into custody without incident.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed approximately 18.77 grams of cocaine, .72 grams of marijuana, and .5 dosage units of suspected oxycodone. Troopers also discovered a large, serrated machete concealed in the rear passenger seat and $8,135 in suspected drug proceeds.
Morales-Colon was transported to Troop 4 where he faced multiple charges. These include Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, and Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance.
He was also charged with Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of a Combination of Alcohol and Any Drug, alongside various traffic and paraphernalia offenses.
Following arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 7, Morales-Colon was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $51,503 cash bond.
