Pole Barn Fire Reported in Princess Anne on March 4, 2026
Somerset County, MD - A fire was reported at a pole barn in Somerset County, Maryland on the afternoon of March 4, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 2:36 p.m. in the 31000 block of Peggy Neck Road in Princess Anne, Maryland. The structure was identified as a 30-by-30-foot pole barn with an attached lean-to.
The Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Department served as the primary responding agency. A single alarm was activated for the incident. A total of 25 firefighters were dispatched to the location. The fire was brought under control in 60 minutes.
The fire was initially discovered by the occupant of the property. Preliminary investigation determined that the fire originated in the interior of the barn.
The cause of the fire was ruled accidental due to the failure of a wood stove chimney. No smoke alarms or sprinkler systems were present in the structure.
