Police K9 Scan Leads To 3 People Facing Charges for Illegal Drugs and Paraphernalia

Cambridge, MD - Three individuals from Cambridge are facing charges following a traffic stop on October 8, 2025, that led to the discovery of illegal drugs and paraphernalia. At approximately 2:50 p.m., detectives with the Cambridge Police Department's Proactive Community Engagement Team (PACE) identified a dark blue Chevrolet Impala in the area of Race and Elm Streets. The vehicle was reportedly sought in connection with a hit-and-run accident investigation. Detectives attempted to stop the vehicle on Cedar Street and Dorchester Avenue. The driver continued slowly before pulling into a parking lot at 424 Dorchester Avenue. A Cambridge Police Department K-9 unit on the scene conducted a sniff of the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert for the presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS). A subsequent search of the Impala and its occupants revealed crack cocaine and multiple items of CDS paraphernalia. Police identified the occupants as 42-year-old Randolph Edward Blake, 31-year-old Akemia R'Keria Fletcher, and 32-year-old Whitney Nicole Gross, all from Cambridge. Fletcher and Gross were charged with CDS Possession of Paraphernalia and released on criminal citations. Blake was charged with CDS Possession Not Cannabis and was also released on a criminal citation.
