Protection Order Violation and Assault Reported on Terrapin Circle in Cambridge, Maryland

Cambridge, MD - On August 1, 2025, at approximately 2:48 PM, officers from the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) responded to a report of a protection order violation in the 1600 block of Terrapin Circle in Cambridge, Maryland.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim of this incident (Unnamed), and the suspect, who was identified as 25-year-old Jeremiah Takei Wongus of Cambridge, Maryland.

Earlier that day, at 2:08 PM, Wongus had been served a protection order issued by the District Court of Maryland. The order was intended to provide protection for the victim at the residence.

Despite this, Wongus was accused of violating the terms of the order, in addition to having assaulted the victim, and was subsequently placed under arrest at the scene.

Wongus was transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing and was later turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections. He is being held without bond.

Jeremiah Takei Wongus has been charged with the following offenses:

• Assault in the Second Degree
• Violation of a Protection Order
