Salisbury, MD - In the evening hours of Wednesday, January 3, 2024, a Trooper from the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack E, attempted to stop a vehicle, a Ford passenger car with Maryland Registration. The vehicle refused to stop and eluded law enforcement throughout Wicomico County, Maryland.

The Trooper confirmed that he had the correct tag number of the vehicle, and also could identify the driver, and made the responsible decision to end the pursuit due to community safety issues. The vehicle was traveling upwards of 80+ MPH in the area of Riverside Drive, near the turnabout and the decision was made to discontinue the pursuit.

A short time later, approximately 30 minutes, the vehicle was located at the Center City Exxon on S. Salisbury Blvd and E. Vine St. The Trooper again attempted to stop the vehicle, at which time the vehicle sped off and caused damage to the gas pumps.

This time, multiple other agencies were in the area and assisted with a short pursuit. Due to policy issues, a supervisor with the Maryland State Police advised that the pursuit was not authorized and the chase was terminated.

A short time later, an individual identified as Trevor Stroup, commented on the Eastern Shore Undercover's Facebook page, multiple times, about the incident.  That individual subsequently ended up being the suspect involved in the pursuit and the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the pursuit.

Maryland State Police diligently continued to investigate Stroup's whereabouts and eventually located him, and were able to take him into custody. Stroup was arrested and taken before the District Court Commissioner, where he is currently being held without bond.

It should be noted that a quick glance at the Maryland Case Search shows that Trevor Stroup-Dipeppe, was recently involved in another police pursuit in Baltimore City, where he was actively wanted on those charges.  He has also been held on those warrant charges without bond.

In addition to the traffic violation charges, Stroup-Dipeppe is also now facing the following criminal charges:

  • Resisting Arrest

  • Obstructing & Hindering

  • Reckless Endangerment

  • Disorderly Conduct

Stroup-Dipeppe is scheduled for a bond review on Friday, January 5, 2024, in the District Court of Maryland. At this time, he is being held without bond in the Wicomico County Detention Center on the Wicomico County and Baltimore City charges.
